The Dragon Lodge, Tignes Le Lac
|
Dragon Lodge is ideally located in the ‘Les Almes’ area of Tignes Le Lac – the most central, vibrant and well serviced of Tignes four interconnected villages. With great south facing views across the slopes the lodge is on a quiet street but is just a few minutes walk from the centre of Tignes Le Lac, the main bus stop, shops, bars, restaurants, nightclubs, supermarket and the new sports centre.
The nearest piste to start/end your day is just a minute’s walk up the road from the lodge, from where you can ride or ski down to the ‘Paquis’ & ‘Chaudannes’ lifts which give immediate access to both sides of the Tignes ski area. The main ‘front de neige’ where ski & snowboard schools meet, the nursery slope and its free ‘Rosset’ chairlift, along with the popular ‘Palafour’ chairlift (the locals favourite) and new ‘Aeroski’ gondola (giving direct access to the Val d’Isere area and whole ‘Espace Killy ski area) are situated is only a 3 minute stroll down the hill from the lodge.
The Guardian Travel Magazine: “A trip to the lodge is all about camaraderie, freedom and the love of the mountains.”
The lodge is situated at 2100m altitude and can therefore be sure of snow from beginning to end of season – first weekend in December right through to May, plus glacier skiing in October and November as well as the summer.
Because the lodge is independently owned & run we have a personal interest in making your holiday the most memorable ever - we’re very proud of our reputation and put great effort into keeping our prices reasonable considering our prime position in one of Europe’s few ‘super resorts’.
Accommodation
The lodge has 3 floors over which a number of different size and style bedrooms to suit any sized group or family are spread.
The main, middle floor, has the spacious living & dining room with a great south facing views over the mountains - the perfect place to start the day with breakfast and a great view of the slopes you’re about to conquer. After a day on the hill come back here to relax and grab some tea and freshly made cake - the tea/coffee/drinks facilities are free to use any time for guests – or relax on the south facing balcony and sun terrace.
There’s a TV/DVD player, movies, stereo with i-pod connection, Xbox & games all free to use.
There’s also a selection of board games, magazines and books and free WIFI access throughout the lodge
This is also where you'll enjoy our hearty 3 course evening meals each evening and relax and socialize with your fellow guests, catch up on the tales of the day and make plans for tomorrow..
Finally on this floor is our fully equipped board/ski maintenance room - free for you to use or where we can service your equipment for you.

*7 nights unless stated differently
As a whole the lodge has 9 guest bedrooms so comfortably sleeps 18 with 2 per room (4 rooms have a 3rd bed for larger groups)
Prices are quoted for sole occupancy based on 18 people staying (further reduction applied) and a per person rate for smaller groups / individuals (if available – depending on new Covid-19 related social distancing rules and safety protocols governing group sizes and mixing which may mean we can’t accommodate and cater for guests as usual – we will update as soon as we know but please email for more info)
Most weeks are 7 nights, Saturday to Saturday, except where indicated above*
What are we doing to keep guests safe
As always cleaning is a priority, but there will of course be extra COVID-specific cleaning and safety measures implemented in line with government protocols and industry standards.
Extra safeguarding, checks and cleaning standards will also be carried out before and your their stay by our team. (for example, all kitchenware will be sanitised on changeover day, with staff wearing PPE, etc.) For catered groups there will be the usual daily cleaning/disinfection of ‘high traffic’ areas and touch points, as well as a weekly ‘deep’ clean of the chalet to a high standard including further disinfection and increased ventilation in the chalet – all carried out at times to best adhere to social distancing
