Car Hire: There are a number of options. We recommend EasyRentCars, and particularly like the feature where it will track prices and re-book you in at a lower price if the price drops.
Bear in Mind: If you hire a car you will also have to hire snow chains, pay to park the car in Tignes - cost 85€ (there are some free car parks - a bus ride away), plus fuel costs.
The main airport used is Geneva however Chambery, Lyon and Grenoble are also used. As a rough guide: Lots of carriers fly to Geneva and hence you can often get the best prices by flying to Geneva if you hunt around. Geneva also has the most frequent bus service to and from Tignes. Lyon has a number of carriers and a reasonably frequent bus service and can be a good option. Ryanair and Easyjet fly to Grenoble and you can get some good prices however you will need to get a hire car or a private transfer to get you to Tignes. Chambery is the closest airport however you may find it difficult to get a good price.
Skyscanner is a great place to compare low cost carriers.
BensBus.co.uk offers a service from Grenoble, Geneva and Lyon Airports
Tip: Book the bus in advance and check time tables carefully to make sure it will fit in with your flights.
